Dr. Alexander Schaffer is a board-certified optometrist providing comprehensive eye care at �鶹����locations in East Setauket and Wading River, New York. He specializes in comprehensive vision care, vision therapy, ocular disease co-management, and contact lens services for patients across Suffolk County and Long Island.

Dr. Schaffer earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry in Manhattan. During his clinical training, he completed internships at TOC Eye, the Veterans Hospital in Northport, and Family Vision Care in California, gaining broad experience working alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists.

His training included extensive exposure to the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other ocular diseases, as well as hands-on experience in contact lens fitting, vision therapy, and rehabilitative optometric services. This background allows him to provide both routine and medically focused eye care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr. Schaffer is a member of the American Optometric Association and is committed to delivering high-quality, community-based eye care. A longtime resident of Setauket and graduate of Ward Melville High School, he is proud to serve the Three Villages and surrounding Long Island communities where he grew up.

He lives in South Setauket with his wife and children and is dedicated to providing accessible, comprehensive vision care across Suffolk County.
