PSHE

Top marks will certainly help to give you a good start in life, but PSHE helps a pupil to make the most of them.

The curriculum is designed to help pupils in all aspects of their life – not just in school. It aims to provide a firm foundation, which will be built upon as pupils mature.

Within the聽personal aspect of PSHE, pupils learn to address their feelings, attitudes and values. We aim to promote pupils’ self-esteem and encourage them to make well-informed decisions. The social aspect relates to the context in which they live – their peers, family and community. This will also involve a citizenship programme where the pupils learn about society, from local, national and global perspectives. Finally, within health education, pupils learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle, addressing issues such as healthy eating, exercise, smoking, drugs and well-being.

School life is not all about passing exams. Indeed few would recommend such an approach as a well-balanced education. Along with parents, schools have a fundamental responsibility to help children in their overall development. Put simply, PSHE is dedicated to doing just that: helping pupils to develop into fine young men.

Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

Our pupils flourish under the individual attention we offer at St Paul鈥檚 Juniors, forming close bonds with their fellow pupils, staff and their Form Tutors who guide them through all aspects of daily life.

Volunteering and Service

Working across St Paul鈥檚 Juniors, St Paul鈥檚 School and parent groups, the school supports several local charities, especially those that we can help through volunteering as well as fundraising.
